Disappearance
is the magic a bullfrog wields
his invisible splash
His appearance
a great gift to all species
who know what it means −
A lily pad floats
just above the earth’s mantel
he surveys both sides
Leaf below his feet
to the stem’s muddy anchor
and from the sky, up
