  scotiabank, td,
and cn towers;    our sky-
line is an icon.

 

II) Den Lille Havfrue, Traversing Gristmill Lane

dignity is     the
only option,   when   every
step is      agony.

 

III) “Attention all subway customers on the Yonge-University-Spadina Line:”

passengers recoil
like junkies wakened by gulls
gagging on sunlight.

 

Rasiqra Revulva is a Toronto-based writer, multi-media artist, editor, musician, and performer. She was an honourable mention in the 2010 Judith Eve Gewurtz Memorial Prize; a runner-up in the 2014 Jane Lumley Prize; and a finalist in untethered’s First Poetry Contest (2015).
