ALLITERATION

James Lavapie (b. 1991) is an interdisciplinary artist primarily working in photography, collage, and textile. Preoccupied with grasping the essence of connection, Lavapie’s work explores the peculiarities of being human. His latest project is a meditation on the intersection between identities, ideologies, and popular culture. The result was a personification of the process of self construction. ALLITERATION envisions fraternal twin sisters, sentenced to languish in a kind of otherworldly purgatory, ruminating on the past and questioning their once-resolute systems of belief.
