On the Trail

Three young women embark on a road trip from Montreal to Manitoulin Island for the annual summer powwow. On the way, they encounter wild animals, sacred sites, and Tim Hortons parking lots.Summer is a time for migration, for celebration, and for renewal. Powwows are loud reminders that Indigenous culture is still very much alive.

Tricia Livingston is an Indigenous artist from northern British Columbia. She recently graduated with a BFA from Concordia University and will soon participate in a thematic residency at the Banff Centre.  Her work highlights the ways in which urban Aboriginal youth access culture through various media.
